Independent Consulting Study Identifies $4.8 Million in Net Present Value Payback through Boomi’s Unified Platform

ROUND ROCK, Texas – November 29, 2018 – Dell Boomi

(Boomi), the leading enterprise transformation provider of cloud integration and workflow automation to build The Connected Business, today announced that a commissioned study conducted by Forrester Consulting on behalf of Boomi found that organizations realize an average return on investment (ROI) of 307 percent over three years from the Boomi platform. The same study also concludes ROI through the platform begins in less than a year.

In addition, the Total Economic Impact

of the Dell Boomi Platform study reveals that organizations achieve a net present-value payback of $4.8 million over three years through higher revenue, reduced infrastructure and legacy integration software costs, and improved IT-staff productivity. The financial benefits of $6.4 million over three years, as calculated by Forrester Consulting in the November 2018 study, consist of:

$3.4 million in new revenue. Organizations realize $3.4 million in incremental revenue by using the Boomi platform to connect data from siloed systems, enabling them to capitalize on opportunities for new revenue streams and innovation.

$1.5 million in infrastructure savings. Transitioning to the cloud and eliminating infrastructure and management costs needed to support legacy on-premises integration tools generates savings of $1.5 million.

$1.1 million in legacy software savings. Replacing on-premises middleware integration tools with Boomi results in a $1.1 million lower cost for licensing and IT maintenance.

Nearly $390,000 in IT productivity. Development times are shortened by 70 percent with Boomi, leading to an increase in IT staff productivity and $388,568 in savings.

The results are based on a composite organization created based on Forrester’s interviews with six Boomi customers in several industries. The composite organization is a large global enterprise with $10 billion in annual revenue and 30,000 employees. The full 24-page study is available here.

The study also highlighted unquantified benefits such as better business decision-making through quality data, centralized transparency into integration processes, and improved collaboration. Also, the study found that Boomi integration developers were able to readily utilize capabilities in the Boomi unified platform for API design and management, workflow automation, and master data management without the need for specialization.

“Moving to a unified platform allowed us to unify our integration efforts and see the synergies that come in from this consistent approach,” the director of application integration at one of the interviewed organizations told Forrester Consulting. “The acceleration in the amount of time it takes to build out an integration or deliver a major enhancement to a business process is a tremendous benefit to the business.”
